Default Anyone ever compete in the APF?

There is an APF meet in my town in the next few weeks that I've been considering entering. Looking at the sign-up info, it appears the only difference between the APF and the AAPF is drug testing. Is there any reason not to sign up as an AAPF member being lifetime drug free?

I'm coming at this from the perspective that I'm participating for the experience, and to test myself under meet conditions. I'm not planning on using wraps (since I've never trained with them, not for any moral perspective of what raw lifting is) and am not trying to optimize my chances to win a medal. That said, if there's really no difference in cost, or substantial difference in the procedures, I wouldn't mind entering the AAPF competition. However, if I have to pay the for the test, or its going to make a long day even longer, I have no problems just hitting my lifts, and moving on in the untested comp.

Other than that, is there anything unique to this federation that would be beneficial to know ahead of time?

    Thanks!

Call the meet director and ask him/her these questions.

Well that almost seems too easy! Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

I compete in the AAPF/APF. I usually register for both because the competition can be weak in one or the other depending on the meet. Sometimes there are 80% AAPF and other times 80% APF. I also want to set ALL THE RECORDS in both. :P

You never have to pay for the drug test.

You should know that raw lifting in the APF does not permit knee sleeves of any kind.

That's great information, thank you. I had assumed the opposite would be true in both cases.
