I am thinking of changing my weights setup from a spare room to the garage so I can do cleans. What flooring do you guys have in the home gym to allow the full SS:BBT program?
Rip says a plywood base with some rubber matting is best.

    Cheers.

If you posted this in Rip's forums, you wouldn't hear the end of it. Seriously, it's been discussed almost as much as GOMAD. It's mentioned here at length, as well as in the book.

Use this link to search for store near you...if you live near BFE you'll have one of these stores nearby. The matting you want is 3/4" thick and heavy.

The horse stall mats are what you want. They are 4' X 6' X 3/4" thick, and weigh about 90 pounds. They will last you forever, and for $50 are cheapee than any alternative.

+1 on the stall mats, just remember to put them rough side down.

You're right. I did a search after my post and found lots of stuff. Wanted to delete my post but couldn't. Sorry all.

Might as well bring an old thread back to life. Did you end up going with the stall mats? I was thinking of getting them, but I'm worried about the smell.

FYI, if you have a Rural King anywhere near you you can get the stall mats even cheaper right now. They have the 4'x6' 3/4" thick mats for only $30.00.

Farm & Fleet also has them for about $40.

Nice find on the Farm & Fleet, there's one close enough away (30 minutes) that I'm going to go ahead and do this. Lifting on a very thin layer of carpeting over concrete is not entirely desirable, my lifts always seem to go better when I'm at gyms with rubber matting.
