Be nice you guys. Post comments on the Youtube site that will encourage this guy too actually squat.

Encouraging people here to provide unsolicited commentary on someone else's squat does little good for anyone involved.

At first I thought you might be right, but then I said to myself, "this guy posted the video on a public forum for everyone to see".

When you're done with that, try sending unsolicited comments to porn stars telling them to believe in Jesus.

It is a widely accepted fact that every time you comment on a youtube video, your IQ drops 10 points.

Therefore, your original plan for all of us to "be nice!" and post unsolicited comments on youtube videos was... in a nutshell... a poor idea. TomC already pointed this out but you did not seem to agree.

I was simply offering up an alternative idea that would be just as useless.

I understand the urge to find people like this, slap them silly and have them post tearful apologies for their nonsense on Youtube.

    But it's not gonna happen.

Most of the world think that a squat involves getting the knees to a 90-degree angle. I don't know if that will ever change. If you try to correct guys like our 400-lb "squatter", it's bound to come to absolutely nothing. If he were serious about barbell training, he'd go out and get the necessary information himself instead of posting that risible bullshit on Youtube. This is the Internet Era. Anyone who remains that stupid is doing it on purpose.

Gary, your post makes sense my friend.

Poopmonkey, I didn't know if you were trying to take a swipe at me because I am a Christian.

Let's all forget I asked for comments on the Youtube site.

Let the posting of the video be for entertainment purposes only.

    Agreed?

I agree with Gary. If you really care to help this kid, you would be better off sending him a PM and maybe sending him to this site, or to a video of a proper squat. Posting on youtube is a surefire way to get into arguments with idiots.

I dont know much about powerlifting bench techniques but there is this guy on youtube who unracks 400 lbs and proceeds to do chest thrusts and counts them as reps.
