Feeling generally crappy and unmotivated to train these days.
New Member intro :
49 years old, 250 pounds. I have some competitive powerlifting and strongman experience. I had two major injuries and surgeries in the same year. A biceps tear in Nov of '08 from flipping an 800lb tire and a pec tear in June '09 while benching.
Current best raw lifts:
Squat: 550lbs
Bench: 385lbs ( I know, I know..I was never really a great bencher and it seems to be the lift most effected by the injuries)
Deadlift: 665lbs
Press: 255lbs ( uber strict ).
Needless to say my efforts of late have been rehab and gaining some "raw" strength and size back.
Although I've been familiar with Rip's name and reputation for quite some time. I've only recently picked up his books. I love his no nonse "Old School" approach to training and his explainations of and methods of teaching the lifts are by far the best I've seen out there.
Goals this year. Hit 405 again on the bench and to make it to one of Mark's seminars.
So here's my training log. Nothing really inovatitive or impressive. I'll try to keep it current although I make no promises.
Tuesday 5/18/10

Damn, you are a strong old man! I seriously hope I can be rocking it like you are as I age. I applaud the fact that you are still motivated enough to train heavy.

2. Inc. DB Bench - 4x8

I must say the combination of your age and numbers are inspirational. It imposes some necessary humility to my 27 year old ass.
Keep fighting the good fight.
