    Hi Guys,

After taking 2 months off (due to an illness), I'm ready to hit the gym hard again.

I'm interested in the most intense routine I can get. I'm guessing a six day a week split will be best?

What would you guys recommend for a six day a week workout? (Practical Programming suggests Heavy, Heavy, Light, Heavy, Heavy, Medium, Off).

Specifically, what exercises, sets, and reps would you guys do?

How do you prevent against over-training?

Practical Programming also recommends spending roughly two years working up to that level of volume, as do the coaches like John Broz and Ivan Abadjiev who train their athletes that way. It's a stupid idea to just jump into it - you'll be lifting light weights and never progressing. You get stronger by recovering from lifting weights, not by lifting weights.

    Haha, ^ this.

Maybe some more information about yourself will help people give you appropriate suggestions.

EDIT: Nevermind, by the looks of his previous posts, OP is probably just trolling.

Do you want an intense program, or a program that produces results? If the former, I have a cool program where you train 7 times a day, 7 days a week- even more intense than 6 days a week BTW.

I suggest working up to heavy singles in the snatch, clean and jerk, and the squat each day. There is no such thing as overtraining, push through to the other side.

    Day 1: 20 rep squats
    Day 2: 20 Rep deadlifts
Day 3: 20 rep bench press

    Days 4-6: Repeat

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried high rep squats, and have a lot of faith in them.

However, for the bench, I'm not so sure that builds strength. But, I'll try it and give it a go.

Thanks again (for not being a jerk like some of the other posters).

    Best,

    Joe
