Would greatly appreciate some feedback on these squats.

The last two I can tell are a bit high. Also my knees don't seem to be very far forward, is this a problem?

Patience is a virtue. Normally people jump on squat checks pretty quickly. Whatever the case, your knees are drifting forward at the bottom of every rep. In general, you need to stay tighter at the lowest point of the squat. The knees need to get to where they are going by halfway down and then should stay put. I only watched the second squat video.

Your knees are sliding forwards on the descent, much more in the second video then the first. Try lifting your toes while you squat.

Just to test a hypothesis: are you under the impression that you need to/are you trying to keep your knees behind your toes?

Your first video was far better than your second.

    Thanks for the observations guys.

Carlos I know that the knees should be just in front of the toes, I just struggled to get them there (even with heeled shoes as you can see) Below is the latest squat video and I think the knees are out where they should be. But I still have the problem of getting them out there very late in the squat and drifting a bit forward at the bottom.

I'm trying to keep in mind the cue to reach out with your ass, so I think this is screwing up my getting knees forward early. Any cues, tips, methods to help with this?

Also any other problems with my squat anyone notices?

Bend from your knees first, and fixate your knees in this postion, and then bend from the hips. This will cancel out the forward knee movement. You could practice with a wooden block, reread the squat section, it was very helpful for me.

edit: look at this video of mike, I think he displays it quite well on how to do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FKSmzQlZdM

Playing the two vids together and pausing at certain points to compare, I can see he is getting his knees out higher up than I am. So I really need to throw my knees out quite early.
Question - should I de-load to do this or you think I can amend this on my next workout with the same weight?

This old codger is a good example of getting knees out fast.
