Default elbows on the squat and hip issue

    Hello Rip,

    I'm in a bit of a rut.

    1. I attended a competition and saw a lifter get a red light because his elbows touched his thigh? Mine always kinda brushes my thigh. Any way to fix that. Elbows more up, wider grip?

    2. I really hurt my hip. I was walking off of a bus and the step was really high off the ground. I misjudged and landed awkwardly on my right leg. I was also holding a heavy bag on that side which compounded it. Now if I try to walk briskly or walk down stairs, it hurts. Also hurts when I front squat and back squat (if the back squat is tight and relatively smooth, the pain is minor.) And the feeling is more of burning then an ache which goes away with rest. It's been 3 weeks so far. Any ideas on what it could be or how to fix it.

I'm 24 175lbs and have been training for 1.5 years. My best squat was 365.

    1. Your elbows are too low, as were the lifter's at the meet. If you squat using our instructions your elbows will not be low.

    2. There is a remote possibility under these circumstances that you have fractured your femoral neck. I'd get it looked at.

Thank you Mark! Will have to work on keeping my elbows elevated to the rear.

Btw, my doctor said I should take neproxin for a few weeks.
He thinks it's just inflamed and strained.
I'm pray it's not fractured and now I'm wondering if it may be a labral tear (thanks internet). Encounter any of those?

Femoral labral tears occur. Better that than a fracture.

Yes, the fuckers do, as I well know. Doubly, in fact.
