Nice! Glad to see this posted. Thanks as always, Rip!
Those of you who are interested in the Press -- the way it was done when men were strong -- should appreciate this glimpse of the coaching of this lift as it was done 40 years ago, when the United States won international meets. Tommy Suggs was one of the coaches that produced our champions. Don't fail to follow this important series of three videos as we teach you the Olympic-style Press.

Many thanks for going to all this effort!
Wow! I thought the current influx of Platform of vids were a holiday gift and a nice way to end the year. But more to start the year? It's like a gift that keeps on giving (and helping me get stronger).
Would it be beneficial if we tried - assuming proper form with the oly press - to substitute this with the much stricter press that you teach in your books/dvd?
Rip,
You guys (Stef, Contributing Authors, et. al.) are doing great stuff with this website. You are making excellent contributions to the barbell sports that aren't seen elsewhere and I felt compelled to say so. Thanks for all the hard work, everyone.

Thanks Hat. Nice to be appreciated. Joelle: try it and see what happens. You could probably do the SS version alternated with the Olympic version, if you can figure out how to do them. They are technically complicated, and thus good for you to practice.
Hi Rip, that was a very interesting video to watch. We're all benefiting greatly from your friendship with Mr Suggs and Mr Starr.
I couldn't help but notice the Aussie flag hanging up in the background. Is there a story behind that?
Some fucking Aussie gave it to us.
