    Rip,

In PP2, the sample novice program for "Y. A. McS." on p 177 prescribes back extensions at BWx10x3. If this is too easy, should one add reps or weight?

    Thanks

Add weight. The reps idea doesn't end well.

Another back extension question: The gym I go to has back extension stations that only permit 45 degree angles. I realize these arent preferable to GHD machines that permit 90 degrees- if you were limited by this equipment would you sub another movement or use them in the same way?

Those are good to use with resistance bands.

I've read some Starr articles in which he recommends doing hypers for very high reps. building up to 1-2 sets of 50 as lower back warmup or if it's the primary lower back exercise for that day 100 reps total with 25 pounds max. From what i've seen he recommends keeping added resistance low and high reps.

what are your thoughts on that?

What do you think my thoughts are? Haven't I just described my opinion of higher reps? There is a tendency on the internet to try to start unnecessary shit so that typists can experience the thrill of pitting authorities against one another, most especially if the authorities are friends. I do not have any respect for this pastime.

You are right. I see your answer stands for itself and how my question is offensive to you. I apologise.
