hi , i am oliver a comp. powerlifter with 245 bwt. , 550 raw squat , 360 raw bench and 620 raw deadlift from germany .

i am on the first week of TM . my q is , is it necessary to alternate between military press and benchpress every week ? can i use the benchpress every week with smaller progression (2,5 lbs ) and a overheadpressexercise as a assistance on monday or friday ? or could i use a close grip benchpress instead of military press ?

    my program now:

    day one:
    squat 5 x 5
    bench 5 x 5(alternate w MP)
    bent rows 5x5 or 3 x 8
    dips 2-3 x 6-12

    day 2 :
    frontsquat 3 x 3
    military 3 x 5(alternate w BP)
    backextensions 5 x 10

    day 3 :
    squats 1 x 5,3 or 1 rm
    bench 1 x 5,3 or 1 rm(alternate w MP)
    deadlift 1 x 5,3 or 1 rm
    chin ups 3 x max
    sit ups 3 x 10-20

my focus are the big 3 sq,b,dl . how could i change the original program for my goals ?

    thanks and regards

Just make your overhead pressing work happen Wotansday. But don't approach it like a light day -- it must be done like a heavy lift.

Whichever volume allows you to get strong and be recovered for Friggasday, silly German person.
