We had another excellent group of 7 lifters stop by CrossFit Oakland for an afternoon discussing and performing the press and the deadlift. Experience levels in the group varied from those who had seldom picked up a barbell through lifters that were well along in their training careers. The camp started with a discussion of some basic anatomy and we touched on the forces at work on the body while performing the lifts. We went through a warm up and then started to press. After that, we talked about the salient points of the deadlift and everyone worked on their pulls. The afternoon wrapped up with a discussion of programming and a question and answer period. It was a very good time and I look forward to hearing how the participants progress with their training going forward. I'll have a group picture up later today. Thanks to everyone who attended.
