Good work you've got them doing. Question, I've heard various things about drop snatches, what's your rationale for using them?

    Default Drop Snatches

I mainly use drop snatches in a warmup drill. What I have them doing in the clip are more like a snatch grip jerk support. We do these very rarely. I wanted to show the kids how strong they really are and what they are capable of if they continue to train hard. The same with the 160 snatch pull. Olympic weightlifting is as much mental as it is physical. You must prepare the mind as well as the body to attack big weights. Thursday the kids are going to set some PR snatches and C&J's my job is to have them both mentally and physically prepared to do so. Although it is fine to throw in assistance exercises now and then you must never lose sight that the goal is to snatch the most weight and clean & jerk the most weight. I hope this helps. Thank you for asking the question it is a good one.
