    Default Squat form check

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    Okay, I've been doing starting strength for a few weeks now. Since I've never really done squatting before I thought I'd post some clips here to check my form. It looks to me like I'm a little shallow, especially on the later reps. Any advice or comments would be much appreciated.

    You are correct. You need to get deeper, drive your knees out, and stay on your heels. Also, check out the sticky on taking video for form checks at the top of this forum.

    Ah yeah, the angle isn't the best, sorry about that. It's just a mini camcorder so I don't know how good the shot is until I get home and plug it in to the computer. I'll try and get a better angle next time.

    Thanks anyway, I'll keep that stuff in mind next time I squat. The depth and the going on my toes thing I more or less suspected anyway. I thought I was already pointing my knees out but from the video it looks like you're right, they look pretty straight.
