I have been weight training on and off for years, but never really had much of a plan. I've always been pretty athletic... wrestling and lacrosse in school, now I train and teach martial arts. I began Starting Strength about 2 weeks ago and decided to post my log here for advice, feedback and most of all motivation.
I am 6'1" and currently weight about 220 lbs.
I am starting this log with today's workout, which would be workout #9 since starting.

Ok, so here's a question...
When I'm doing my last set of work sets for the squat, I start to feel like I'm going to pass out by doing the valsalva maneuver. I'm not failing on the lift, but it's pretty fu**ing scary.
Is this just something I have to get used to? Or will it improve as I get more used to holding my breath?
