My obligatory intro: I'm 46 years old, 5' 8" and about 147 lb. I decided to get in shape at the beginning of 2011 when I was nearing a very soft 170. I used to bicycle quite a bit and was fitter, but I had never lifted before. My road here has been kind of a winding one. First I did a few months of P90X that my wife bought for me, then I happened upon Turbulence Training which was great for fat loss and got me to my current weight.

As my focus turned towards strength for the first time, I discovered 531 and started incorporating the 531 rep schemes into my TT workouts, then finally transitioning completely to 531. I'm currently in my 5th cycle.

I am not an intermediate but intermediate-level lifts are my goal for this year, and I thought this would be the best place for my log. I have learned a lot from the SS and PP books and this forum and am happy to find a non-bro strength-focused site like this one. I did decide that the faster linear progression wasn't the best for me, especially at my age. The slow progression of 531 has worked well for me and we'll just see where this all goes.

PR for reps by 1 on the press. Felt decent for the rest, though just punching the clock enthusiasm-wise. The body and mind are looking forward to the deload next week.
