See the WOD demo on their main site today. They are no doubt strong, but you'll see some low-bar, high-bar, thumbs-under-bar. I couldn't watch the whole thing due to the obnoxious music, but it's a good chance to see some technique issues.

Yeah...the woman was using 45s and the guys were loading the bar with 25s. THAT is the epitome of crossfit right there.

I don't think there is an "official" way crossfitters squat. From what I recall, this was one of the reasons Greg Everett left/was canned from crossfit - because he thought it was a major problem that CF didn't make the distinction between the different types of back squats.

Until crossfitters are known for their impressive squats, I can't bring myself to care how they squat.

No, I'm trying to start some BS CF thread... sorry if it came off that way. There are plenty of squat videos on this site for seeing technique issues without stirring that particular CF pot. Sorry I brought it up.

Could someone enlighten me as to what "OP" means?

What is wrong about a thumbs under the bar grip? Many very strong squatters grip the bar this way.
