I just upped my bent over rows to 185, and found my self cheating a little bit by the fourth and fifth reps by not holding my back in one place while I pull the bar up. Should I be as strict as possible, or it ok to allow for some back movement?

Being as strict "as possible" by definition allows for some back movement (ie. when 100% strict isn't possible). So doing cheat reps isn't a big deal, unless you find you are just doing them to be lazy. After a certain amount of cheating it becomes essentially a different exercise which targets different muscles and has a different effect on recovery.

If you want to do reps in the way recommended by Rip/Starr, you are SUPPOSED to lift chest upwards as you lift the bar.
