    Default M'shizzle's training log

So I had a log in the Intermediate training section for a while last year. It should not have been there. Should have been here. I'm so not an intermediate lifter. Anyway, I am fresh off of the SS seminar this weekend and my desire to hit the weights hard has been reignited.

I did SS and TM last summer/fall for 16 weeks. Had some decent progress on my lifts, but I took some time to go back to CrossFit style training and lost some of the gains. I'm certainly not a CrossFitter....not a good one at least. I think I have a decent chance at becoming a much better lifter, so I will focus on that.

    Personal stats:
Height 5'10" with a lonnnng torso!
    Weight ~170
    Current 1RM's:
    Squat: 215
    Bench: 100 (soooo lame)
    Deadlift: 245

I really need to get my bench up. I've never gotten it higher than 105. I learned some good stuff this weekend which I hope will really help.

    Today's training:
Back Squat: 150x5x3-->Thanks to Steve and Ripp for the help on my squat. More narrow grip on the bar+knees first+faster descent=much stronger lift!
Bench Press: 90x5x3-->Thanks to Stef for reminding me not to breathe out fully within the set. Quick breaths helped me to keep tight.
Deadlift: 225x5x1-->Matt says I should be able to pull 300 within 6 weeks if I keep at it, so I'm super pumped about that!

Hit some chins today. I can do an unassisted chin up....can't seem to link them together :S So I did 10 sets of 2 with the smallest band there is. Next time I'll attempt 10x3. My gym SS coach suggested working up until I'm at 10x5, then hopefully I can do 2+ unassisted chins. Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long!!

Squat (not specifying "back squat" anymore...): 155x5x3-->felt soooo good.
Press: 65x5x3-->ugh, I hate the "new" form
    Clean: 103x3x5-->Felt pretty solid.

Love lifting days...I drink 8oz of raw milk right after my session and a bagel (with my protein.) yummy yummy. Enjoying it now. I wil need to clean up my diet in the fall...back to paleo :'(

Went in to do some chins and a HIIT session...I am so mentally and physically exhausted from work this week. I pretty much did 2 sets of 4 chins, 5 intervals of 30:60 on the rower and went home. Oh well...barbells tomorrow
