My old thread is here: http://startingstrength.com/resource...ad.php?t=34595

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think this is actually doable in the next 3 years. Samoa had 2 berths in the 2012 Olympics, 1 for Men's and 1 for Women's: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samoa_a...ummer_Olympics). The guy was in the 77kg weight class, but I'd be more comfortable in the 105kg or 105+kg class depending on where my weight ends up.

Here are the results for the Oceania Games last year:
    105kg - 140kg Snatch - 181kg C&J
    105+kg - 184kg Snatch - 229kg C&J

So, if I can at least beat those lifts, then I have a better than average chance at an Olympic berth for Samoa.

Just to be clear, I'm taking a realistic view of this, and my lifts are garbage right now. But I think this is a good long-term goal and something I can stick with. This thread will follow the progress and you'll be the first to know if I fail spectacularly. Plus, I'd love to be able to look back on this just to see how hard it was in the beginning.

    Today:
    Snatch - 0kg
    C&J - 0kg
    Weight - 113kg
    Level: Rank Novice
    Time Left: 1095 days

    Yesterday's workout:

Squat: 175lbs 3x5, still too high
OHP: 110lbs 3x5, felt light, go up 5lbs next workout
Hang Clean: 90lbs 5x3, rack position felt better but not using enough hips
