    Cool Andrea's Log

Today is my 100th day of lifting. It will be a year on Jan 9.
I started having no experience, and little strength.
    I weighed 120 and now weigh 122. I am 5'4" and just turned 38.
    My current PRs are:
    Bench: (today!) 75x5x3 and 88x1
    Press: 68x5x3 and 75x1
Deadlift: 168x5 not sure of 1 rm
Squat: 130.5x5x3, 140x1 (failed 150 and tried 140 next, today)
Haven't been power cleaning lately since we've been having our children lift with us and it takes a long time.
Weightlifting isn't my highest priority. I just wanted to get stronger, and I am very happy with my progress. I enjoy it, so I am continuing!

Yay, great bench! You know, my bench stalled for ages, and then I did a lot of close grip and dumb bell work. Today, I did 88 for 4 x 6 ... Looking forward to reading about your intermediate path

Hi, I have 4 kids as well, although older than yours (mine are 21, 17, 15, 12). They admire both me and my husband for lifting heavy weights and they also love it that we are at the gym and out of their hair so much. "No please, Mom, go to the gym. Really. Go."

That is so funny, squat queen!
I am battling to stay stronger than my children!

    Maria,
When you say "close grip"...how close do you mean?

Andrea, your numbers are looking great! It's been fun to be a newbie along with you, following along with your log as I work on mine. I'm envious (in a good way) of that squat, especially! Keep up the good work and keep on enjoying the good work : )

My close grip is maybe a little wide - wrists aligned with shoulders, not with elbows. Works the triceps like a dream.
