Squat/Dead check and where to go
Hi Mark
Thanks for your books. After doing a PT course years ago that taught me nothing and having to learn myself your books have been invaluable to putting me on the right track.
Just feeling like I need bit of advice if I should change my program or maybe go to advanced programming. I usually find info I need on scouring the message (hence had to make new profile as forgot my username and password) But Couldn't find something that helped.
Also to note I stopped training for a year when I came to NZ long story but been back training just over a year now
Stats:
Weight: 115kg
Height: 5'10
at the end of October I was sprinting (first game of rugby) and managed to tear my groin severely. so will do post stats and what I am doing now
Pre Groin tear
5x5 Squats: 190kg (418lbs)
1x5 Deads: 200kg (440lbs)
5x5 Bench: 140kg (308lbs)
5x5 Press: 90kg (198lbs)
What I am doing now
5x5 Squats: 170kg (374lbs)
1x5 Deads: 200kg (440lbs)
1x1 Deads: 230kg (not perfect form 508lbs)
5x5 Bench: 130kg (286lbs)
I can't do cleans/snatches as it flares up an old elbow injury
Goal to Hit 600lb deadlift
routine:
Monday
Squats 5x5
Press 5x5 (week 2 change press and bench)
Chin up 8-10 reps
Wed
squats 5x2
bench 5x3 (or press)
deadlift/ now starting to change with haltings/rackpulls
Fri
Squats 5x1/1x5
press(or bench) 5x1/1x5
Chins/back ext/lying tripcep
But recently my knees, elbows, and back start to really really kill like tendinitis or something.
I Woke up on Monday(after doing security at a festival for 16hrs to note) and I felt like a 70 yr old man I was in agony and still feeling it in my elbows, knees are still achy.
Am I just over training should I change up my program?
(Yes I sound like a twat on my dead videos turn off sound...)
