So, my wife has decided that it's time to give Starting Strength a try. To help me remember her lifts, I started a second log to record her workouts on SS and personal records.

Personal Records (in lbs) and gains since starting Starting Strength
    Squat: 35lb
    Deadlift: 55lb
    Press: 35lb 5RM
    Bench Press: 35lb 5RM
    Chin Up: 0

    Linear Programming (4/10/13 -> ???)

    Cat II Goals:
    (#)Relative strength standards: http://startingstrength.com/files/standards.pdf
    Press: 52lb
    Bench: 77lb
    Squat: 103lb
    Deadlift: 129lb

If all the female lifters on this forum want to give her a shout out for encouragement, I'll encourage to post under my user name (or just create her own if she sticks with the program).

    high bar Squat: 35, 40x5x3
    Press: 35, 40x5x3
    Romaina Deadlift Technique work: 35x10

Observations: Squat hip drive is great, need to focus on parallel or ATG movement. Press is very strong, as this is still a light weight. I'm going to stick with +5lb on each left as she is struggling with the depth on the squat. I'm sure that will quickly be adapted. Switched to a high bar squat as it felt more natural and comfortable to her, and I don't want to discourage her from sticking with the program.

DL is an issue as she has Scoliosis, which causes migraines when deadlifting. May need to reach out to Rip or the coaches for advice. The hinge movement on the deadlift is a problem, as she keeps performing good mornings. Need to read the SS doc on how to coach around that.

    Squat: 35x5x2, 45x5x3
    Bench: 35x5x2, 45x5x3
Chin Ups: 5x3 ( kipping, lowered bar style)

Skipped deadlifts today as there is a fear / pain factor involved. She's still taking it easy on the bench, should hit the goal within 3 weeks at her pace.

    Squat 35x5x2, 50x5x3
    Press 35x5, 45x0, 40x5, 40x2, 40x3, 40x5

Felt the squat in the groin muscles, will repeat the weight on squat next session as there was a depth issue on the squat.

Press was a technique issue, still learning the movement. Bar was travelling too far in front of the center of gravity. Had to correct a line of site issue as well. Altogether though a great session.
