Hello guys,
I'm David. I'm 18 right now, finishing my freshman year at university. Injury history, to keep it short: L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc injuries, rehabbing with barbell training since this winter.
Right now I'm in meet prep, bench-only (5/18) due to my lower body rehab numbers. BW around 185-190, waiting on batteries for my scale; I'm competing at 198 instead of cutting for my first contest.
Right now, looks like this basically (texas method/kind of peaking bench for competition)
Monday
Bench 4x5 across volume
Squat 3x5 across
Press Heavy singles (thinking about inputting weighted chins here instead)
Rows 3x5 across
Wednesday
Deadlift 1x5
Press 3x3 recovery
Don't really know what to put here. maybe some easy chins
Friday
Bench 5 paused singles intensity (+5 a week until meet hopefully)
Squat 3x5
Press: AMRAP with medium weight for like 3 or 4 sets
Maybe light deads (sighs cleans would be perfect here)
Before you say it, any type of cleans are now banned at my uni gym (thanks crossfitters). I just switched to this two weeks ago so I'm still feeling what works and what doesn't.

Deadlift (legs were stupid sore after not squatting for a week): up to 260x5
Press: 135x3,3,3
light chins, light squats
Fri 4/12
Bench- up to 255x1,1,1,1,1 (paused)
Squat- 210x5,5,5
Press- 115x8 135x8,6
Chins- BWxfailx2

Monday 4/15
Bench- up to 240x5,5,5,5
Squat- 215x5,5,5
Press- 135x1, 155x1,1,1 no belt (switching for weighted chins next week)
Chins: Bwx5,5,5 in between presses
Wednesday 4/17
Deadlifts: up to 270x5 sickening lower back pump, I focused on hips higher with the aid of a mirror.
Press: 140x3,3,3 easy, but probably too heavy for recovery day. dunno though.
Friday: 4/19
Bench- 260x1,1,1,1,1 paused
Squat- 220x5,5,5
Press- 135x11(rep PR i suppose),8,7,3 (lol but who was endurance)
I need to pull more!

Wednesday
Deadlift up to 270x2 (f***) shouldve had an easy five. pulled the second rep sumo because I tweaked my back first rep
Press 145x3x3 light
Did some back off deads, decompressed my back as best i could
Friday
Bench up to 270x1,1,1,1,1 paused with meet style commands
Squat 230x5,5,3 anyone following the Q&A might have seen my what is my groin doing to me thread. Came out bad when i got too deep on a rep
Press 135x10,4 dehydrated and just not feeling it at this point.
Chins Bwx13 (lol)
Overall bench is still going up pretty fast, probably because Im still gaining weight pretty fast. But my scale broke so who knows where Im at there.
