Question Struggling to recover and planning ahead

    Andy

On my latest run at LP I am really struggling to reach my previous PRs (except on DL).

Programming- Light squats on Wednesday, deadlift once a week on Wednesday.
Nutrition - Average, but more eating a lot rather than eating enough of the right stuff
Sleep - suffering badly due to the recent arrival of our first child (6 weeks old now)

Thinking ahead, after Ramadhan, I intend to:
    - LP 3x5 if I lose strength during Ramadhan
    - followed by LP 3x3 as I have seen you recommend
    - cycle back to 5s
    - then try 5x5 ramped sets
    - before switching to a 4 day split over a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule, on a V/I setup.

    Mon
    Squat warm up
    Bench (I)
    Press (V)
    Chins

    Wed
    Squat (V)
    RDLs
    Curls

    Fri
    Squat warm up
    Press (I)
    Bench (V)
    Dips

    Mon
    Squat (I)
    Deadlift
    Rows

    Questions
    1) Do my proposed programming changes seem sensible?
    2) Does the above split seem sensible?

Thanks in advance for your time and advice.

    Regards
    Yaseen

Ya, I think that your thinking is in the right direction.....although it is difficult to plan everything out to the letter ahead of time. Have a plan, but be smart enough to know when to be flexible. On the recovery.....I have a 3 and 4 year old......those baby nights are still fresh in my head. It gets better soon......until they learn how to climb out of their cribs......then another cycle of misery for a while.

Thanks Andy. I know I'm thinking quite far ahead but I just want to to be sure I know where to turn when I start stalling. I don't want to grind myself into the ground when I know that dramatically increasing my recovery resource may not be an option.
