Enough fucking around. I want a 725 deadlift & 275 press. In my fantasy world, bench press doesn't exist and my hips can endure intense squatting (alas, they cannot).

    Age:36
    Ht: 6'
    Wt: 230 (bf= ~16%)

i wrapped up Texas Method in October '13, then fucked around for a while. Numbers look like this:
    Squat: 385x5x5 (475 1RM)
    Bench: 335x5
    Press: 235 1rm
    Deadlift: 585 1rm (but recently did 495x5x5)

3 months ago I overreached & tried 5 rackpulls at 670#. On the 5th rep I lost tension in my upper back -- & fucked something in my left AC joint. This sidelined me for a while & I still can't bench anything close to heavy.

So going forward: going to run a few weeks of vanilla LP, then switching to a basic block scheme. I suspect I'll hit 1500 within 3 months, but, as stated, I really only care about getting a dead+press total of 1000.

I should probably bump up to 242. 18 months ago I was 190. So, I've gained weight sensibly & will continue to do so.

I like where you're going with this, Hanley. Here's to your recovery and strength! (You didn't see it but I just downed 2 fingers of Bulleit.)

I like the way you think. IMO, the Deadlift & SOHP are the most important lifts. Pavel also agrees.

    Thank you sir! Delicious choice.

this is fucking exciting. Cant wait to see the press!
    It's...gonna be a while.

Well, I agree. I wish I had some sophisticated justification for my position, but I just suck at squats. I'm a gangly fucker.

T-Mike!! We're ramping back up at the same time. Let's keep this shit going.

    Hi, John!
I can't believe you called my old log lame. This log shall be a beacon of not-lame -- filled with drama, sex, raw emotion, deep metaphysical speculation, & unchecked enthusiasm for the Seahawks of Seattle.

Alright. The longest journey starts with 25 presses:

    1/14

    Press: 172.5x5x5
    LTE: 115x6x4
    GPP

Sidenote: If you watched the Seahawks-Saints divisional game this weekend, you saw me. I was the jackass who screamed, WHO DAT, MOTHERFUCKER straight into the camera. Anyway, GO HAWKS!

    1/14

    Squats: 315x5x3.

Squats are going to be 2x/wk LP for a while. I'm not training to compete in the squat. They serve my deadlift. These felt pretty good.

    Clean pulls: 315x2x5.

Damn! You gained 40 lean pounds in 18 months?! I'm just a year older than you. I have hope for more GAINS now.

Not that lean. I was 10.5% at 190. I'm no Feigenbaum.
