I read on page 118 of PPST3 that doing deadlifts on intensity day will allow the trainee to be fresher versus pulling on Monday after the 5x5 squat. However, standard TM programming has been to deadlift on Monday, despite the fatigue, as in your T-Nation article and some other posts on here.
Why the change in programming for the new book?
Some like it on Monday, some like it on Friday. I prefer it on Friday.

I seem to recall one of Rip's blunter responses being, "We've learned quite a bit since PPST2."
