Buddha Belly Needs a Smaller Belly... and Gunz
Hi All,
This is round 2 of SS for me. I am starting a log for accountability purposes and to virtually surround myself with all of the kickass-ness that is reported in these logs. The program is starting to feel hard and I notice myself rebelling (i.e. missing workouts, feeling apathetic before deadlifting, stop eating, thinking about transitioning goals).
My New Year's mantra is to not be a punk so here I am!

First WO posted in the SS forum:
S:200x5x3
Bench: 96x3x5
DL: 245x5
DL was hella easy and I hate DL'ing. This is prob because it took me 2 hours to finish this workout, an hour of which was spent talking aka listening to an older gent speak. It was interesting. He was a teacher and we conversed about pop music, racism and... about his crack headed cousin. I am not the most skilled at stopping conversations short, especially in regards to personal matter. Too bad that this all happened during my lunch break. Regardless, his purging got me thinking about how self pity and hopelessness can really kill your life. According to him, 15% of crack addicts truly rid themselves of the addiction? Astonishing and Saddening.
Fatty cardio shall be done after work followed by a post workout beer. TGIF.

Did you know that the Buddha is reported to have nearly died of starvation in his thirties prior to his enlightenment? There are even many statues of the Buddha that show him very slender. But, of course, they wouldn't have a skinny statue at restaurants. Keep up the good work. It is always kind to listen to an older gentleman. I'm an older gentleman. Good work on the lifts. Keep it up.

Welcome Buddha. This forum often needs enlightenment!
Carson, the Thai/Indonesian Buddha statue is very different to the Chinese fat smiling Buddha. It is, as you say, very slender.

Workout:
Sq: 205 beltless. 5x3 Video to come
Press: 67.5 I think I am getting the form. 3x5
PC: 90. Meh
Chins: isometrics at top 5 secs
Lat pull down supinated grip 100x4x2
Fatty cardio elliptical 10 min. Go me.
Funny thing with the chunky Buddha, he is technically a bodhisattva. Thus there is one Buddha know, Siddhartha Gatauma. Although the Buddha admits that there are probably other Buddhas before him. I like where this conversation is heading.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
