    Default grinding out squats - 3-1/2 months in

    starting to log my progress here, thanks to everyone for all the information i've gained from you so far. I was a mid distance runner before and have never worked for full body strength before. I have made significant progress with lower back pain that I had dealt with for the past 10 years.

    27 years old, 6'0" 4 kids 4 years and under means not quite enough time to do this right but giving it my best shot

    starting date: 2/21/14
    bodyweight: 178 lbs
    squat: 85 lbs x 5 x3, Bench: 125 lbs x 5 x3, Deadlift: 145 lbs x 5 x 1, Press: 85 lbs x 5 x 3, Powerclean: 95 lbs, x 3 x 5.

    Current progress: 6/4/14
    bodyweight: 197 lbs
    squat: 265 lbs x 5 x 3, Bench: 160 lbs x 5 x 3, Deadlift: 330 lbs x 5 x 1, Press: 110 lbs x 5 x 3, Powerclean: 150 lbs x 3 x 5.

    That's a bunch of little kids.

    I've only got 2, and that has pretty much restricted me to going to the gym at lunch time only. Looks like you are doing great so far!

    I tried for my usual early morning workout but felt some tightness in my back after my first squat set and stopped after 270x3. Felt better this evening and went back to finish my workout.

    Morning:
    Squat: 270 lbs x 3 x 1
    Bench: 162.5 lbs x 5 x 3

    Evening:
    Squat: 270 lbs x 5 x 3
    Deadlift: 335 lbs x 5 x 1

    Everything felt like I was near my maximum and looking back at my videos I really had trouble keeping my back from rounding on my deadlift. I had a little trouble holding onto the deadlift because of a couple of stitches in my finger.
