Been a lurker to this forum for quite some time, I hope I am posting in the proper forum!
Any way I am 49 years old. I am doing my first meet July 19, nervous and excited. I started with SS but I switched to a 531. I found it was easier to recover on 531.

Anyway my goals are for a 500 squat, 500 dl and my bench is rather weak maybe 350.

I have been powerlifting for the past 2 years. I read Rip's book and figured I would give it a go. I haven't been watching my weight so I am a bit porkier than I'd like.

I will post my workout's when I find time to do so
    Thanks
    Walter

Welcome. Given your circumstances I don't know if this is the right forum but it doesn't matter to me. You are already lifting some big weights. I hope you do well.

    5'10 about 230ish haven't stepped on a scale in a loooong time

today I hit 480 on the squat for a single..i didnt get the full range my spotter said i was about 1/2 inch off..i could tell too. It was a pr in terms of putting that much weight on my shoulders even though I didnt hit it clean at least I know I can hit it!

next workout is a deload then its back to the 5 rep

There's a competitive lifters log section. You'll get more comments and interaction from others who compete if you log there.
