OK - I am going to take a shot at maintaining a log. I am 36 y/o male, 6-2 220, pretty much a skinny fat guy. I have narrow slumpy Peyton Manning-esque shoulders. My workout history has consisted of brief unsuccessful forays into BB, distance running, and crossfit. One positive thing I can say about CF is it introduced me to Olympic lifts and barbells. I also play judo on a regular basis which is decent "exercise", lot of matwork, pushups, situps and throwing people around. It is also a frequent source of injury. I spend a decent amount of my day eitherin a car dealing with shitty traffic or at my cubicle, which seems to contribute to back and neck discomfort.

Anyway, I discovered SS about 6 months ago and I have been fucking around with barbells at my commercial gym since. It isn't ideal but there is enough stuff and no one bothers me when I occupy the rack for an hour at a time. My back feels great when I am lifting. I have been trying to go twice a week between judo practice, which is 3x a week.

    Today:
    PC 45x3 55x3 95x3 125x5x2

    Squat 95x5 115x5 135x3 160x3x5

    BP 95x5 115x5 145x3x5

Pullups 3 sets of 10 with 135 pounds of assistance. My pullup skills are and have always been an abomination due to the aforementioned narrow shoulder and extra weight curse.

Good luck, Spider. If it were me, I wouldn't worry about my slumpy shoulders. I'd just get stronger with the parts I have.

    PC 45x3 55x3 95x3 125x5x2. Felt good - I am ready for 130 next time.

    Squat - 95x5 125x5 135x5 165x3x5. New PR, felt good, I am going for 170 next.

Press - 45x5 65x5 75x5 95x3x5. Last rep of last set sucked, the bar was all over the place. I need at least one more 95x3x5.

    DL 125x5 145x5 165x5. Felt good, I am ready for 170.

Severe DOMS yesterday. Holy fuck. Back and legs were on fire! I am learning the importance of rest for sure.

Today sucked. Did not feel strong at all and judo is kicking my ass. Uchimata looks awesome and all but it sucks when someone is practicing it on you.

S 95x5 105x5 135x5170x3x5 PR. These felt good but then....

PC 45x3 65x3 95x3 125x2 130x2, OK. 130x1 second rep total failure. Finished up with 125x3x2. I am going back to 125 for work sets.

    BP 45x5 65x5 95x5 135x5 145x3x5 Felt good may attempt 150 next.

Overall I guess it wasn't horrible but I am annoyed about the PC.

Today was good, despite a savage hangover.

    PC 45x3 65x3 95x3 125x5x2

    S 135x3 145x3 155x3 175x3x5 PR

    Press 45x5 65x5 95x3x5. 95 finally felt somewhat light. Ready for 100.

DL 135x5 145x5 155x5 185x1x5. PR. Felt good. Kind of a big jump but fuck it.

A little extra rest made a big difference in my scapular and upper back DOMS.

PC 45x3 65x3 95x5 115x2 125x5x2. Still hesitant to go for 130 again. Maybe this weekend.

    S 115x5 135x5 155x5 185x3x5. PR

BP 45x10 95x5 135x5 150x3x5 PR felt surprisingly easy. Must have been the blueberry poptarts I crushed beforehand.

Keep at it man. PC needs lots of practice to keep good form. I've been skipping out and it shows.

Looks like you and I started with pretty close numbers.
