Try something heavier on your ID. Instead of a 5rm, do 2-3 doubles. See if that gets you unstuck

I'm 63 years old, 215lbs and have just finished LP on my squat after rehabing an MCL tear. I work out 2x per week, which seems to be my max. I went from 95lbs 5x3 on the squat to 155lbs increasing 5lbs each workout. I then went to a heavy - light plan (5x3 heavy on Tuesday, 5x2 at 90% of heavy day on Friday). This has taken me to 195lbs 5x3. This is close to my previous PR and I'm barely eeking out the last couple of reps.
I'm thinking of going to a Geezer modified TM: 5x3 volume day on Tuesday, 5x1 intensity day on Friday. Does this make sense? Is this what you would recommend?
