Simple: can't do a pullup anymore and want to get to 10 asap. Hopefully this will be a short log with lots of posts. I'm 400 feet or so from a commercial gym, so going for a few minutes 3+ times per day isn't an issue. Until I can do one dead hang pullup, I'm going to be doing negatives, band pullups, machine assisted pullups, lat pulldowns and maybe other stuff if I think of any.

    11/15

    12PM

7 minutes of lat pulldowns. Approximately 50 @ 77.5#. This was part of my GPP in Izzy's program, but it kind of fits here too.

    2PM

    Machine Assisted Pullups

    4 @ 40#
    5 @ 55#
    4 @ 55#

    4:45PM

    Negatives until arms didn't work.

    6:45PM

    Band-assisted

    11, 10 - partial ROM, couldn't finish
8 - moved the band up

Only have one band. I might eventually need a thinner one. The people who work at the gym already? think I'm retarded.

Nice goal. How much do you weigh now? How long since you've been able to do pull-ups?

    171. I think the last time I was able to was March, which was probably also the last time I was under 190# BW.

    Machine Assisted Pullups

    2x2 @ 25

My knees left the pad for part of the first rep.
I'm deadlifting tonight, so I'm skipping the lunch pullups.

    Machine Assisted Pullups

    3, 2 @ 25

After lifting, so I have to be close to one dead-hang. I'll probably stick with the machine assisted version for now. With 40 or 55 pounds of assistance, they didn't really look or feel like pullups. Bands are probably better at that point. With only 25 pounds, they look a lot more like pullups. I guess what I'm saying is that the specificity improves as the assistance decreases.

I'll call it 0 doubles and 3 singles, but it might have been 0-1 doubles, 3-5 singles. I'm getting stuck so close to the top that I can't really tell. Maybe I should add in some partial negatives at the end? Or heavy lat pulls?

    9PM

    Lat Pulldowns 4 @ 100lbs, 6 @ 85lbs
