Hi everyone! I train at Silverback Strength and Conditioning, owned by SS coach Adam Lauritzen. 20 years old and around 5'9/210lbs during the off season...but I compete at 198.

I started strength training because I wanted to be an elite CrossFit athlete, so I got Adam's help and started the Texas Method. I was having way too much fun not being injured and lifting heavy that I decided to quit CrossFit and start powerlifting.

My first meet was a local non-sanctioned charity meet... I ended up going 470/315/470 for 1255@198 with wraps. 5 months later I went 463/325/529--1317@198 raw, no wraps. The training cycle for this meet was plagued by my bad elbows from wrestling and some really bad quad pain, but I was still very pleased with my performance. This was a sanctioned USPA meet and I actually left with all four NV state records for the 18-19 year old division.

I've been on the Starr intermediate model with light, medium and heavy days. It's worked extremely well for me and I'm hoping to get everything I possibly can out of it.

Here are my most recent gym PRs, 500x5 deadlift and 440 lbs squat for 5 sets of 3(this was the first set).

Welcome to the board AJ. I've seen your vids on the SS&C FB page. Congrats on the records. Good luck in your training.

Caught tonsillitis, and wasn't really able to train. Finally felt good enough to do heavy day, so here's how tonight went:

445x3 squat. Usually I do five sets of three, but didn't want to push it. Still a rep Pr.

310x5x3 bench press. Extremely happy with this...been battling some tendinitis and hitting some slow spots with bench and it's finallg u starting to click. No pain either!

505x3 deadlift. Wanted five, but called it at three. Still a rep PR, and very happy I got it considering how sick I was all week. I'll post the videos of all three soon, thanks for reading!

    "Medium" Day.

400lbs 3x5 squat, moved extremely fast, probably the fastest 400lbs working set I've done.

300lbsx3 intensity close grip bench press. I wrote a note next to this saying "this was fucking hard."
195lbs 2x10 drop down close grip bench.

    190lbs 4x7 rows. Cardio.

Overall a very good training day. Finally starting to build the baby bench up...hoping to hit
350+ at USPA nationals in July. Body weight was 207 this morning, still 20 years old.

    "Light Day"

    310lbs 2x5 squat...flew through that.

    200lbs 3x3 strict press. Hate.

    550lbsx3 rack pull.

    315lbs 3x5 deficit stiff-legged deadlift.

12kg kettlebells for a 3x10 of lat/delt raises to end the workout.
    210 b/w after workout.

Decided that I'll be doing the Strengthlifting meet in May at CrossFit Oakland! Does anyone else plan on participating? Planning to go 500+/245/600+ @198lbs. Hope everyone's week is going great!

    Heavy day.

445lbs squat 5x3... Definitely had to grind today.
315lbs bench 5x3... Almost no pain! Finally getting bench press gains.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!
