Hello all! I've been lifting for the past year or so (consistently), with a short back injury break and then did some bodyweight stuff for the last 5 weeks because I was feeling beat up by another program I was on.

Today was my first starting strength workout, so I spent a bunch of time trying to find my weights to start with.

I'm 37, 6'3" 225ish pounds. My squat has always been a weak link, likely due to bad form which contributed to back and knee problems. I'm hoping to fix that with SS.

    Here is today's workout:

    Squat
    45x5x2
    65x5
    95x5
    115x5
    135x5
    155x5
    165x5x3

    Press
    45x5x2
    55x5
    75x5
    95x5x3

    Deadlift
    135x5x2
    165x5
    185x5
    205x5
    225x5
    245x5
    265x5

    Thanks for reading!

Welcome. Keep up the good work and stay away from that other program. You may well benefit from a check in with a certified SS coach. Find out I you live within 1,000 miles and go see him or her.

Also wanted to say welcome. I'm fairly new here too and I noticed we have similar stats (34, 6'3", 215 here). Squat has always been my weak link as well. Look forward to following your progress!

Just took a look at your log. Thanks for commenting!

My whiner excuse about the squat is that it's a long way to get down. I have a short torso and out of proportion arms and legs, so that makes all my lifts fun!

    We'll get there though!
