I'm not sure if I'm going to keep faithful to filling out this log this log or if I'm just writing here for now.

3-21-16 was the last time I had a bar on my back. The next day I had severe stomach pains and by the 3rd day I was in surgery repairing a ruptured appendix. That was followed by a few weeks of sepsis due to massive infection that started at the ruptured appendix and spread to all abdominal organs. Back into surgery for repairs of fistulas and a few other things. IV antibiotics for about 3 months to keep things in check then a real fun bout with C-Diff. Pretty much all that could go wrong did. At the time I weighed about 225 with a 5'9 frame. BS was 435x5,DL was 505x5 and bench was 310x5. Not amazing numbers but I'm a 45 year old oly lifter so I was pretty happy with that.

I'm back at it with a weight of 160#. I started my diet about a month ago to prep for training. I'm humbled to say I am starting with an empty bar and using the SS programming w/ acessorry work for 2 days a week at first.

    Welcome back, Otto!

I've been through the ruptured appendix myself and it's no fun. With those strength numbers, you know the drill better than I; slow and steady. You'll get it all back before you know it. Looking forward to seeing your progress here. Subscribed.

Welcome back. It's a shame you've had those medical problems. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks Carson

I decided to put a little weight on...

    BS 115
    BP 95
    C 95

All felt quite light. Form was good. ROM was good. No DOMS. Diet on point. I'll be back to squatting 400 in 4 months.

Not surprised that it took me about a year and a half to update this. I’m not much of an internet guy. But after getting sick it took me about 85 weeks to get back to where I was.

    Current weight is 197
    BS is 440.5 x5
    DL is 535x5
Bench 290x5- this has been the most difficult to regain my strength in

Dang, sir. All of those are numbers I'd like to get to. Except bodyweight; that's too low for me.

    Good work and good recovery.

Nice work! I love it when folks don't roll over and die after a major setback.
