    Rip,
Do you have a recommended ratio of 1 RM power clean to deadlift, like you do overhead press to bench press? I realize some people (Olympic lifters) have higher ratios, but do you have a general guideline/recommendation?

I'd like to see an athlete clean at least half his deadlift, preferably 60%. For people who have been training long enough to have a strong deadlift, greater efficiencies than this indicate an aptitude for Olympic weightlifting.

Interesting test, I'd think of 60% as being pretty good.

Rip, in terms of someone having "been training long enough to have a strong deadlift", do you have a rough deadlift to body weight ratio in mind?

A rough guess would be twice bodyweight.
