    An Introduction and a little about myself.

    My name is Scott, I live in Sydney Australia.

    I am 45 yrs old, 175cm and tip the scales at an incredible 70kgs!
    I've always been skinny, was one of the smallest in class all the
    way through school. An active job,plenty of beer and never eating
    enough have left me skinny with a bit of a belly for most of my Adult
    life!

    I was diagnosed with stage4 bowel cancer at 27, underwent major
    surgery plus chemotherapy and somehow managed to survive.

    At 38 I became a father to a beautiful little girl, who I began having trouble
    picking up and throwing around a couple of years ago and during my search for
    a solution to that problem I came across Starting Strength.

    I ran through an Initial LP without power cleans for the first 6 months of 2016
    My totals were

    Squat 102.5kg 3x5
    Bench 59kg 3x5
    Press 46kg 3x5
    D/Lift 120kg 1x5

    Basicaly I did it wrong and burnt myself out, didn't eat enough, poor recovery due to a physical
    job, adding too much weight and lack of sleep(the chemo left me with some
    nerve damage which causes permanent twitching in my calf muscles,which
    wakes me during the night).

    I'm blaming the piss poor bench number on the fact
    that I have no chest!

    Anyway, I am going to run through it again, using smaller increments sooner,
    2 days off between training, bringing a light day in sooner on the squats and
    trying to eat more. Can't do anything about the job or sleep so will just have
    to put up with that.

    Notes:
    Dropped the Press down to 1kg increments
    Added extra volume for the Bench, will add extra
    pressing on Bench day.

    All going along well so far.

    Dropped Bench to 1kg increments
    Trying to sort form out on P/cleans, not sure I'm flexible enough to rack them properly. Will persevere for another couple of weeks and drop them if I can't sort it out.

    Notes:
    Squats flew up
    1st set of press was a bit of a grind,
    Last 2 sets went up easy
    Had to use alternate grip on last rep of Deadlift
    Was hoping to get to 100kg before that happened

    Been sick most of the week, some kind
    Of cold.
    Squats felt really heavy
    Bench form was poor but still got them up
    Power cleans remain shit.

    Slight twinge behind right knee cap during

    Chins 2,1,0

    Notes:

    Can't kick this bloody cold!
    Squats went up well, felt lighter than
    the previous 2 workouts, twinge in right
    Knee cap was present for the 1st set then
    disappeared.

    Bench went up well

    Ditched power cleans, going to do chins instead.
