    Andy -

how does this look for a split routine with heavy/light alternating:

Day 1: Bench 1x5, Press 2x5x80% of heavy set, lying tricep extension 3x10 (if time allows)
Day 2: Squat 1x5, bb rows/deadlift singles?, chin-ups (if time allows)
Day 3: Press 3x3, CGBP 3x5, dips 3x10 (if time allows)
Day 4: Squat 2x5x80% of heavy set, deadlift 1x5, chin-ups (if time allows)

the following week, add weight to the heavy sets (5lbs, 2.5lbs, etc)

    Thanks!

Overall set up is fine. May not be enough volume though to drive longer term progress.

is this where HLM / GGW would come into play to be a better option?

Not necessarily. I don't think frequency is the problem here, there just isn't a lot of heavy workset volume in this layout. Some guys do great on low volume though. So you just have to try it and see and adjust as you go.
