Walsh Brother 2
Starting back into the Starting Strength Program after 2 months of doing other various programs, most recently Texas Method. Those volume days are hard for squats.
I workout in my garage with my brother. I had messed around with SS previously, but we started our initial SS program February of 2016 and saw great results. We took numerous breaks for vacation, sick, out of town. Starting numbers were (for fives):
Height 6'4"
BW 220 (skinny fat)
SQ 185
DL 225
Bench 135
Press 95
PC 95 (brother was unable to PC at first, so we started rows 135)
We ran out our linear progression sometime in October 2016 pretty close together, first in press, and then in bench. Ordered some micro plates and switched up programming.
At that point I was:
Height 6'4" (didn't change, strangely enough)
BW 240 (20lb increase)
SQ 345 (165lb increase)
DL 375 (150lb increase)
Bench 225 (90lb increase)
Press 135 (40lb increase)
PC 195 (100lb increase)
Piddled around for a while, did a 2 month Texas Method stint, took a break for a little while, and just started back into SS hoping to get a few more of those novice gainzzzz.
Today:
BW 245
SQ 355
Press 135
DL 405
Goals: to stay on novice progression as long as possible, because Texas Method is hard.

TM is hard. What is your age.
-
There are 6,432,729 intermediate options out there other than 3 day TM as written in PPST3
-
Age is 27. We are pretty new to actual strength programs.

Workout went pretty easy tonight, but the grind is coming.
BW: 246
Squat: 340 3x5
Bench: 210 3x5
PC: 155 5x3
My brother just recently hit a 300,400,500 so that's my new goal for this summer.
Does anyone reading know of any updates for Mark's meets his wanting to do? He was talking about what sounded like a new weightlifting federation?
Agilic, are you running an intermediate program right now that's giving you good results?

Easy workout on 6/22. Couldn't workout the previous evening, so did 5:30am to give me time to get to work.
Didn't get a weigh in, but I'm trying to eat a lot and push this linear progression as far as I can.
Lifts were:
Squat 345 for 3x5 (easy)
Press 140 for 3x5 (hard)
Deadlift 410 for 1x5 (middle)
Chins Bodyweight+5 for 3x7 (hard)
Not a bad workout, and I always feel so good for the rest of the day after deads. I'll try to post some video of my lifts for form check sometime soon.

Nice workout with the brother and a friend. I love Saturday morning workouts because you can recover longer. Downside is it takes 2.5 hours to finish.
Squat: 350 for 3x5
Bench: 215 for 3x5
Power clean: 160 for 5x3
Nice bench day. I feel like my bench and press are pretty weak. Rip talked about holding your breath throughout, and I find that works for me. I don't know why, but many times I lose back tightness when I take a breath. This has resulted in numerous failed attempts in the past.

BW 248
Last nights workout was pretty quick. I think I chit chat too much when working out with my brother. We mostly chat family, religion, and politics. Pretty light stuff...
Squat: 355 for 3x5
Press: 145 for 3x5
DL: 415 for 1x5
Chins: 10lbs for 3x7
Travelling to Bar Harbor this coming week, so I hope the YMCA attendant I spoke with on the phone knew what she was saying about a squat rack. I specifically asked if it was a Smith, and she said, "One is a Smith, and one Smith you do yourself."
Here's hoping I find and empty barbell on a chassis-less rack.
