since i have started doing squats, i been having random pains in my knees, just below the knee cap (medial collateral ligament). during the squat i feel nothing and it doesn't seem that i put much or any pressure on it at all. the next day i wake up and i am fine, it starts during the mid day and it just randomly dies and comes back on again. that specific area also feels to be a little bit stiff and sore. its been a real mystery for me, because during my squats i don't feel a thing and i can squat perfectly fine. i have also watched my self squatting and i don't really see anything wrong, i'll post a video later on.

    thanks.

Your description of the area may not indicate MCL. I'd have to see the squat.

thanks for replying mark, i have figured why i have had the knee pain. every time i squatted my knees tilted forward a bit and thats why i was having a strange pain in my knees. i read your book again and i figured if i make my knees go outward it will stretch my hamstrings and prevent the knees from tilting forward.

    2 videos:

This one my knees tilt forward every time (before i knew about this)

now this one, i still DO tilt forward on a rep or 2 (atleast i think), but since then my knee pain has been gone and i don't have it anymore.

and this is a picture of low bar placement, i don't know if its good enough to tell if i am doing it right or wrong (tried my best)

and BTW if there is anything else thats wrong i would appreciate your comments =o (i still don't have shoes )

    Thanks again

The amount of knee travel you were showing in the first video was not enough to have caused any knee problems. Good that you fixed it, but something must have been wrong to cause the pain.

it wasn't any sharp pain, it was just around my knee cap that felt sore. i couldn't really pin point a place where the pain was bad the most. the pain would start from one side and go around the knee cap. but as of now the pains gone..i hope it stays like that
