My dad is in his early 60's and has been doing the NLP (off and on) for about a year with no prior strength training experience. I'm not an expert but I think his form looks pretty good, and his numbers are going up linearly (deadlifting 250, squatting 200, benching 130, pressing 90). A month ago he had surgery on his calf to remove a golf-ball sized ganglion cyst, and had to take a couple weeks off from training to recover. He asked the orthopedic surgeon whether he should continue squatting, and the doctor said no (and that he shouldn't have been squatting anyway). Any thoughts on whether the ganglion cyst could have been caused by squatting? I think I know the answer to this question but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
