I don't think you need to worry about time under tension, basically at all. You worry about force production and given that you can't change the levers you've got, the only useful proxy for that is weight on the bar. Fives will still work really well for you to build your base as a novice, and reps in that general range will still be used for volume work throughout your career. You can do some small things to play with leverages a little, but more or less the early phases of your training career will look the same/extremely similar to everyone else's. I've never yet seen or heard of a verified account of someone who was an untrained novice get strong quickly by focusing on time under tension. I've seen and heard of thousands of examples of people doing so by doing fives and adding weight on a regular and frequent basis. I don't see a good reason in theory, or the evidence in practice, at this point in time, to make that a priority, certainly not for the early stages of one's programming.
