I am starting SS tomorrow after some time away. I remember this being a good place to keep a log, so here I am. I am a 33 year old male, 6'1", 225 lbs. Looking to get strong and solid.
I have been going to the gym 2-3 days a week but have lost a ton of strength and muscle mass over the last several years because I haven't pushed myself, been consistent, or even thought about eating right. My diet over the last several years has been black coffee and copenhagen snuff for breakfast and lunch, whatever my wife makes for dinner and then I'll sneak a huge bowl of cereal when everyone is asleep. I will be eating a more solid diet but not going to count calories. Probably going to focus on red meat, eggs and salad. I won't be doing GOMAD but will probably add heavy cream to my protein shakes for some extra calories. I am starting over from the beginning and hopefully strength will come back at a rapid pace.
Here is my workout from Friday 11/10:
Squat: 245x3x5
Bench: 195x3x5
Pullups: 225x3x4
I will start SS from phase 1 so will run the following in A/B/A B/A/B fashion until I need to move to phase 2:
Workout A
Squat: 3x5
Press: 3x5
DL: 1x5
Workout B:
Squat:3x5
Bench: 3x5
DL: 1x5
I look forward to keeping up with my log and seeing everyone's progress.

After quite some time of just messing around, I have decided to get serious about training and prepare for a strongman competition hosted by the gym at which I train.
The competition will consist of wagon wheel deadlift for 1rm and axle press for 1rm.
I've never done either movement but we have the equipment at the gym. I plan on running SS to get some old strength back quickly.
I may have the in-house strongman programmer do some programming for me as the competition get closer. For right now, the best bang for my buck is to get as strong as possible. I will be competing as a novice as of now and will be competing as a lightweight. I currently sit at 216.
Today's workout:
Squat: 225x3x5
Press: 135x3x5
Power Clean (used as deadlift warm up) 135x3x3
Deadlift: 275x5

Did some strongman training today.
Wagon wheel deadlifts: worked up to a single at 415
Axle press: worked up to a single at 215
Spent most of the time working on axle press technique. The press isn't that bad but getting the bar up is challenging as the weight gets heavier.

Restarted SS to quickly build up strength after some injuries. Starting super light. Weights are light but the movements are painful. I am also doing some mobility work and stretching. Keeping a log here as a form of accountability.
