Default My journey to 250 lbs.

Ive started SS properly about a month ago and am looking forward to crushing my goals. A month ago my lifts were as follows

    6'4 male 210 lbs

    backsquat 255x5
    Deadlift 455x1
    BenchPress 205x5
    Press 130x5
    Pclean 205x1
    Chins 14xBW
    Pullups 12xBW

I started pounding the milk as recommended and my body weight shot up from 210 to 225. Its a bit hard right now as my military unit has me running 3-5 times a week but i'm going to suck it up and try and push my weight up to 250 lbs. No reason really I just think weighing 250 would be fucking cool.

    My lifts right now are

    backsquat 295x5x3
    Deadlift 385x5x1
    BenchPress 230x5x3
    Press 145x5x3
    Pclean 175x3x5
    Chins/Pullups 10-11 BW

Im going to be following the SS advanced Novice program but Ill be highbar squatting for the next week because of my cocksucker of a left elbow. Ive read the other threads on this forum about squats hurting elbows and ive got the same issues going on. Ill be lifting Mon-Wed-Fri however tomorrow ill be in the base strongman comp so Ill be skipping the usual workout and indulging in alcohol.

First strong man comp was a blast. 13 people competed with weights ranging from 200 to well over 250. First event was a shotput throw, all the power cleans ive been doing helped alot and I took 2nd in that event. Next up was a tractor tire flip. It was between 400-500 lbs and we had to flip it 8 times, I got 3rd in that event. Next up was the farmers walk which I had been practicing and it payed off with a 1st place. Fourth event was a hand over hand rope pull where I came in 6th or 7th, I think if I sorted my technique out I could have placed a bit higher. Finally was a reverse sled drag and I came in 6th on that as well, Had some technique issues there aswell. After all was said and done I was awarded 3rd place and had a great experience. A friend that I train with took first place so that was good too. Anyways, once again it was a good time. Really nice to compete agaisnt someone other than myself for once.

Later that night we went offroading in a buddies truck. We got it stuck of course and we couldnt push it out. Obviously Im not strong enough, back to the gym on monday.

Hey man, your stats @ 210lb are almost exactly like mine. I'm 6'4 and about 205 in my oly lifting shoes, 20 years old. 250 is beastly and that's where I want to be eventually as well. I am in the military too (Marines). It will be VERY interesting to compare logs! Is your progression going well? I find myself struggling on press right now.

Hey everyone, i've got internet again so Ill backlog all my workouts since the break. Pretty crazy time in Halifax running an obstacle course every day. Drank way to much alcohol way to often but I didnt have to run AT ALL so I made some good gains on my squats. My weightlifting belt was waiting for me when i got home as well so Ill hopefully be setting some major PR's all belted up.

My left elbow was pissing me off again this day so I started with bench and then squatted light to try and figuire out what was setting my elbow off. Then I did some curls because they feel nice.

    Squat
    225x5x2

This workout was a complete disastour. I got into the gym and they told me it closed in 12 minutes. I ended up super setting Press with squat to try and salvage the day.

    Squat
    225x10x3

My last night in halifax was rough to say the least, Im pretty happy to not have any broken bones or major felonies so blowing my squats because of it isnt a big disapointment for me.

    Squat
    325x4-2

    Press
155x5x3 I have no idea how I PR'd on press, they felt pretty strong in comparison to how week everything else felt

    Deadlift
I picked the bar off the floor once and then realized I needed a good 14 hours sleep and some ibuprofin

Anyways this brings me to my current spot. I havnt jumped on the scale since leaving a month ago so Im pretty excited to see where its at. The food at the cafeteria was terrible so I opted to eat large quantities of junk rather then selectively eat cleanly. Im sure i maintained my 225 lbs but I put on a little more fat than I would have liked. Anyways, Im back on the milk now and Ill be belting up for my squats tomorrow. 250 here I come!
