    Background:

    I'm 28 yrs old, 5'10", and 220lbs. As a wrestler and fighter in my late teens and early twenties I enjoyed a fairly good prime. Alas, I got married, took a desk job, and ballooned up to 260lbs in 4 short years. In Feb I finally had enough and decided to jump back on the horse. I got off the couch and started doing a combo of running and calisthenics. I dropped 40lbs rather quickly. I then put away my running shoes, laced up my Chuck's, and started lifting. I've been toying around with SS for the past month but finally bought the book a week ago and have decided to acctually "do the program". I'm curious to see what I can do.

    Day 1

    I missed my 5lb increase on my squat. My form broke down on 5th rep of my first set at 245. I reduced to 240 and finished the last two sets. I'm not sure what to chalk it up to, hopefully it was just a bad day. I'll try 245 again on Monday.

    I felt great this morning. I finally hit 245 on squats without any breakdown in form. I also jumped 5lbs in my press and 10lbs in my power clean. I attribute todays success to steak burittos and Ambein.

    Didn't feel like it today but dragged my ass to the gym anyway. I felt strong and progressed all my lifts. As a side note I had some guy come behind me in the rack in the middle of my last set of squats. I had to yell at the dude to back the F*** off between reps and gave him an ear full afterwards. The reason he gave was someone squatting that kind of weight needs a spotter. The same guy and his workout buddy were half squatting 135 with a pad in the rack next to me. Goal for 2011 build a garage gym.

    I took a few days off after tweeking my lower back carrying something heavy up a couple flights of stairs. I probably could have worked through it but I thought it better to be safe then sorry. I reset my power cleans to 135 because my form was shit and I was muscling up the weight. I reread the PC chapter and watched the DVD again and felt my form was spot on this morning. I need to post a video and get some feedback.
