Some times I think it just happens; your brain switches off just a split second (understandable, on the last rep of the last set), or maybe you go just a little deeper, or try a marginally longer hold at the bottom, and bang! you lose your groove and the bar becomes twice as hard as it should be.
Just one of those things; if your sleep and food (and rest times) are sorted, I'm sure you'll forget about this very quickly.

I know these kinds of fails, but I don't think it was that. I actually saw it coming, it was too hard from set 1. Pretty sure it was food/sleep : it was Ash wednesday the day before...

    Tues, Feb 20, 2018
    Squat: 145 kg x 5 x 3 (319 lbs)
    Press: 56 kg x 5 x 4 (123 lbs)
    Deadlift: 176 kg x 5 x 1 (387 lbs)
    EZ Curl: 48,5 kg x 6 x 2, then 3 drop sets

BW is 102.3 kg (-3.5 kg since 2 weeks ago...), no wonder it was hard last week...

I was thinking about tonight; what about an honorable draw?
We soak your pressure for the first ten minutes then score via a classic counter attack. Then we let you put the ball in the net from the developments of a corner.
We'll had some feisty tackles to give the punters something to shout about, and then we chill it out for the whole of the second half. At some point Nigel Owens will shout 'this is not soccer', and then we go home with a point.

    Deal?
    No?

Oh well then. Let the worst team win, for once.

Actually, these days I can't ask for more than an enjoyable game... If you add to your ideal scenario a small brawl (after all, aren't we latin teams?) and enough tries, I'm actually in

    Fri, Feb 23, 2018
    Squat: 163 kg x 4 x 4 (359 lbs)
    Press: 56 kg x 4 x 3 (123 lbs)
    Deadlift: 165 kg x 4 x 3 (363 lbs)
    EZ Curl: 49 kg x 6 x 2, then 3 drop sets

The return of the dreaded squat grind... I didn't particularly miss this feeling, but it had been a long time... DL with straps and shrugs.

    Are you ok?
Or did you just take advantage of the blizzard to go skiing?

    Hi IPB,

I'm sorry I didn't watch the game, but I was told it wasn't a great game. Then I took advantage of the blizzard and went to the beach with the whole family! One week, of holidays, I managed to sneak in 2 workouts, not great:

    Wed, Feb 28, 2018
    Squat: 145 kg x 4 x 2 (319 lbs)
    Row: 111 kg x 4 x 4 (244 lbs)
    Bench: 107 kg x 3 (235 lbs, rep PR), 102 kg x 4-4-3 @ 10 (224 lbs)
    EZ Curl: 49,5 kg x 6 x 2, then 3 drop sets

Was supposed to do 4 sets of 4 @ 107 kg, failed the 4th rep of the first set, dropped to 102 kg, only managed 3 reps in the last set. Pretty p*ssed off. I don't bench enough, I've decided to add a medium bench day after heavy press.
