    Test Day !!!!

Great fun testing today and (touch wood!) im happy im clear of my back injury and can start to build again. Some hard work to come!

No pr's but im still happy. I got videos for the form section too.

    Press 154 PR=170.5
    Squat 242 PR=264
    Bench 231 PR=247.5
    Deadlift 286 PR=330

Press was ok. Failed at 165 twice.
    Squat was good, im happy.
Bench wasnt great. I dont like my new bench. My friend spotting threw me alot too. He was lifting the bar too far out over my chest. 220 felt so heavy after having to stop the bar going out and then pressing. Hard to describe. The 231 actualy felt good. Maybe i could have gone another 5lb.
Failed deadlift at 308. Im happy with 286, realy happy. My back held up to making a max effort and thats the most important thing from today.

Now i can get back to making some progress and acheiving my year goals!

Hey you are really close to your 270lb goal - that's some massive weight esp at your body weight (still at 195?)

Hey Peez, sorry, i should have included my bodyweight. I was 188lb for the test day.
Im confident il nail that 270 by the end of the year.

My deadlift goal will be the toughest. 396! So a 110lb increase in 6 months? Its possibke, why not?!!

Sure it's possible - I went from DL zip to 392.5 in 5 months. You can certainly add 110. It's only 5lb per week! I hope you don;t mind me saying the obvious - your squat is awfully close to your bench. Hope your back holds up - then you can fix that, too. A three plate squat and four wheel DL would go well with a 270lb bench!

    Cool

Nope i dont mind at all !
I broke a bit of my hip in a car accident and ive had kneecap dislocation and knee surgery before so im just happy to be squatting! Regardless of the weight, I always feel better for it.

Thanks Peez, i can do it!
Thats great going in 5 months, well done to you

You are so right. I envy people with good knees after two surgeries and non-functional ACLs in both so I can sympathize with your plight. Any squat I come up from unscathed is a good one. And squatting certainly helped stabilize my knees. Last winter skiing was very painful ... hope that next winter I will be (relatively) free of pain so I can keep up with the growing skill (and speed) of my two young ones. That alone will have made the training worthwhile.

Hope this will work out the same way for you! Don't listen to the doctors!

Tweaked my knee in work and my daughter had an illness so very little done since.
Set for a big push the next 8 weeks to get back to pr land.

    [B]Week 1 of 8 [B]

    12/7/14

    Squat 176 x 5/5/5
    Press 132 x 5/5/5
    Deadlift 220 x 5

Squat form felt good. Knee is very painfull to straighten out.
    Press was good. Good drive.
Deadlift was hard. Im just not a good deadlifter. Keep trying though. Knee pain didnt help. Its either a cartilage flare up or some tendonitis. It will pass.

Im focused on a big 8 weeks, come on!

    Make that - YET.

    It will pass.
Amen to that. Give your body time. The calendar doesn't mean a thing. Listen to your body and push as hard as you can - you're doing great so far!

Thanks Peez! Yeah your right, some goodinjury free time with the bar and i will improve.

The only calendar one im 100% commited to is the bench and im hitting that by year end no question!
Suppose my other lifts are aims and bench is a goal.
    Ah something like that!

    Squat 181.5 x 5/5/5
    Benci 198 x 5/5/5

    Chins 6/5/5

Good session. Knee is improving. Squat was good work.
Bench was tough, i needed a long break before the 3rd set but it was needed and nailed it.
    Chins were good.
