Thanks, Viola! My bench moves unbelievably slow!! It is also very dependent on my weight. I'm a little nervous about the bench portion of the meet...and not sure what attempt I should start off with. Oh well, I'm sure it will work out.

    Default Thursday - 11/21/2013

    Squat
    BWX3X5
    45X2X5
    95X2X5
    115X1X4
    135X1X3
    155X1X2
    175X1X1
    205X1X2 - PR

I could have had more. On the third rep, I was on my way back up, felt the bar roll towards my head, panicked and dropped it. So frustrating! I need to keep my CHEST UP!!!

    CGB
    45X2X5
    55X1X4
    65X1X3
    89X3X5
I got to the gym later than usual and only had enough time for the squat and the CGB.

    Side, side note:
I try not to overload my log with the aches and pains we are all familiar with, but today I have to back track to Sunday. I strained my neck down to my shoulder traps while trying to pull a third rep on the DL. I worked through the pain all week. I've worked through this pain before, so I didn't think I would end up aggravating it more. Today (all day Friday/Sat AM) it is really hurting. Somehow I aggravated it more. I've been under some (really very little) stress, and that ALWAYS makes my traps hurt. I hold a lot of stress on my shoulders and neck. Really any little thing will make seem like I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. It is not helping that I can't just sit around. I have things to do!!!

I'm icing, massaging and trying to rest it as much as possible. As excited as I'm to have my family visit this weekend, I really hope they are up to having a low weekend.

    Default 11/24/13 - 11/30/2013

    Sunday - 11/24/2013

    Squat
    180X2X5
    180X1X2
    180X1X3

Pre training, my body felt beat up. My traps still hurt as does the entire right side of my body. I took it easy on Sunday. I focused on my squat volume and then called it a day.

    Wednesday - 11/27/3013
    Squat
    205X1X5 - PR
    http://youtu.be/Ojq7j6RE_54

    Bench
    45X3X5

    Saturday - 11/30/2013
    Squat
    195X3X3

    Press
    45X5X3

I took it pretty easy this week. The squat was the only thing I pushed in order to get the 205 PR. All my other lifts are as strong as they are going to be before the meet. We'll do a light training day on Wednesday and that will be the end. I'm really looking forward to the meet!

    Thank you!
I've been itching to redeem myself for the "no lift" squat on my last meet.
I'm starting to feel the butterflies build up in my stomach now. It is so much easier to stay calm when I'm training hard.

    Default Wednesday - 12/4/2013

    Squat
    BW X3X5
    45X2X5
    95X2X5
    135X1X2
    135X2X1

    Bench
    45X2X5
    55X1X2
    70X3X1

It is so hard to take it so easy. LOL I have to focus on eating, hydrating, and resting.
My husband's company holiday party is tomorrow. That should help keep my mind off the meet for a bit and I get to eat delicious food. :-)

Default 2013 APF IL Raw Power Challenge‏ - Pre-Meet Planning

This is what I'm thinking I'll do:

    Squat
    1st attempt - 205
    2nd attempt - 225
    3rd attempt - 235

    Bench
    1st attempt - 104
    2nd attempt - 110
    3rd attempt - 115

    DL
    1st attempt - 225
    2nd attempt - 235
    3rd attempt - 250

I'm most nervous about the DL. I really just want the meet to take place now! Let's go!!
Live Broadcast: The meet will be broadcast over the web on Sunday. http://www.2xlpowerlifting.com/
