Great PRs!!!
Overall a very excellent day. Sweet heart is home recovering and getting stronger each day and I did 3 PRs today.
Squat: 70 X 10; 90 X 5; 110 X 5; 120 X 2; 130 X 5 X 3 New PR. Balls to the ground.
Press: 45 X 5; 55 X 5; 65 X 5; 70 X 3; 75 X 5 X 3 New PR. Be an Oak Tree.
DL: 50 X 5; 145 X 5; 175 X 5; 195 X 3; 215 X 1; 235 X 5 New PR. On the fifth lift my back did not stay as flat as it should but it counted. I'll work at this weight next Monday and will see if I can do all 5 with stein of beer on my back. I'm very pleased.
Great PRs!!!
a 200 lb. squat seems finally within reach. I don't know how long it will take but 130 was no problem. DL was a bit of a challenge but I believe I have more in the tank for that as well. We'll see.
Once your traps get bigger from the press, you'll be able to do HBBS without the bar slipping off.
Ah, that's it. My OH presses are pretty wimpy. 75 pounds aint exactly manly. My bench presses are only slightly better. But still the real problem with the squat without the harness is the pain in my elbows and wrists. I just cannot get my arms back far enough...at least not yet. But with the harness 200 lbs is in reach. My Deadlifts give me great encouragement. Though I think I'm entering the last phase of the novice stage. I'm hopeful to reach 300 by the end of the year. We will see.
Not such a good day but at least I lifted.
Power Snatch and complexes: 10 X 3 X 7
Press: 45 X 5; 55 X 5; 65 X 3; 70 X 1; 75 X 5 X 2; 75 X 1 (fail)
DL: 50 X 5; 145 X 5; 195 X 5; 215 X 1; 235 X 5
Ran out of time for Squats. Next time I'll start early.
235! You are back in the lead! On to 300!
A very interesting session. I did squats for a PR. I tried the Bench Press for a PR but failed. I fainted attempting the Power Snatch. I haven't done that since college when I gave blood after two days without sleep. I started the bar down and remember seeing at eye level and then I remember nothing until I saw my two work out partners standing over me asking if I was alright. I remember thinking "why are these guys standing over me.?" Then I thought "what am I doing here on the floor?" When they told me I fainted I began to have a deep sense of gratitude that they were there and quickly helped me out of my situation. Besides a sore lower back and buttocks I'm doing alright but as you can imagine that ended my session for the day. I'll give the weight report in my next post. Dinner awaits.
Squat: 70 X 6; 90 X 5; 110 X 5; 130 X 3; 135 X 5 X 3 New PR
Bench: 45 X5; 80 X 5; 100 X 5; 115 X 1; 120 X 5 X 1; 120 X 3 (fail); 120 X 4 (fail)
Power Snatch (An enemy I plan to conquer): 30 X 5; 55 X 3; 60 X 1 (fail) I fainted.
