Way to go, Carson! PRs that you've been working toward for many moons, now behind you.
"Besides turning the usual bright red not a problem" -- Glad to know I'm not the only one. I have to deadlift facing away from the mirrors at the gym, so I won't see how red I get.

I think red is a beautiful color. Keep up the good work.

    HLM

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 182.5 x 5 x 2
    Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 4; 85 x 3; 100 x 1; 112 x 0 x 1; 115 x 0 x 1 I know the slight change in technique I must focus upon in order to get a pr here. More hip power and closer to my face.

Yeah, I like it when I can feel the bar brush against my hair with each rep. Good work!

I'm always impressed. It really is amazing what you can do. That's a damned good PR for a man half your age.

Thank you. I did lift on Friday and came very close to lifting 350 on the deadlift. We are away for a couple of weeks. I hope I don't lose too much strength in the interim.

We are back from two weeks celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary and babysitting our grandkids. We learned about volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamies on the Big Island and the second week about our great grandchildren. No training while gone. We'll see how that effects us tomorrow.

    April 28:

    Squat: 211 x 2 x 2
    Bench: 140 x 2 x 2
    Dead: 307.5 x 1; 335 x 1; 350 x 0 Almost a PR.

You can set PRs with grandkids, too: amount of successive time spent with them before giving them back to the parents. We always root really hard for the GPs on these PRs

Our just became 6 year old grandson likes to show us how to play some of his favorite games. During one such game he offered this "I sometimes lie." To which i said "don't you want to grow us to be a good honest man." His answer, "I'm not sure." He's quite a kid.

HLM: Not having lifted for two weeks I wondered how I would do.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 4; 160 x 3; 182.5 x 1; 202.5 x 3 x 3 Actually my form was much better than expected.
    Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 4; 85 x 2; 96 x 3 x 3
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 295 x 1 (all with hook grip); 310 x 3; 250 x 5.
